This morning I read upon a bible article about the Eternal Salvation of a Christian. The author who wrote the article came up a question by asking the audience, “If you were to die today, how do you know for certain that you would go to heaven? As described in Romans 14:10, “ For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ”. God has made it clear to us that there is only two appointments that set in our life which death and the judgment. The tragedy of what happened in Fukuyama, North of Japan on March 11, 2011 where a powerful earthquake has struck the north-east coast, triggering a massive tsunami. Cars, ships and buildings were swept away by a wall of water after the 8.9-magnitude tremor, which struck about 400km (250 miles) north-east of Tokyo. This shows the uncertainty and brevity of life. God tell us in James 4:14, “ Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even as a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”
God is simply trying to tell us that we should not make an error choosing our path of salvation in following things that “seem right” to us, or that we “feel in our heart that we are saved”. Thus, we shouldn’t think that our life is too comfortable. The bible says in Proverbs 4:12 “ There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death “. Our feelings are not a safe guide, but only the bible is the truth guide.People tend to make all kinds of assumptions in life, contradict what God says in his word to us. All we have to do is to look and observe the many differing doctrines that are being taught, and then compare them to what God says in the bible, and we can see the difference. Our Lord says in Mark 7:7,“ And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men”. What does this verse mean, it simply tell us if we choose to follow the doctrines of men and not from God, our worship is in vain. Some of you may ask, isn’t some of the differing doctrine come from God itself? The answer is certainly is not. In 1 Corinthians 14:33, “God is not the author of confusion”. Therefore, it is equally important that we study our bible everyday and always use it as channel of communication with God and use it for teaching in righteousness. As the apostle Peter told the Jewish council in Acts 5:29, “We ought to obey God rather than men”.
Do not believe anything that I tell you, because we are not going to be judged by what I say. Do not believe anything any other person tell you, because we are not going to be judge by what some other person says. In fact, we are not going to be judge by what we personally believe. On the Day of Judgment, we are going to be judged only by what the Lord says in the Bible. That is going to be the only standard for judgment, for our Lord says in John 12:48, “The word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day”. So, if I or any other person cannot point it in the Word of God, then please do not believe it, because there is too much at stake.
